Friends: My New Family
I knew when I finally moved in at Defiance College, I would meet plenty of new people. Some might be just like me. Some might be a bit... eccentric. I never bargained for this wide variety of friends. Two of them are pretty much twins. They even say the same things at the same times. My neighbor is one of the greatest people I'll ever know. She's a devoted Christian and an excellent basketball player. One, a fellow Steelers fan, looks like Sid from Ice Age. Another is extremely energetic and spastic. Two more of my friends are at complete opposite ends of the spectrum. One is very mellow and comes up with off-the-wall inspirational quotes. The other is... well he lights himself on fire. They happen to be roommates (whoever put these two together...). Yet another friend is an amazing cook and a hilarious person! Her boyfriend is enthusiastic about everything. He will walk around doing random impressions because he knows it will make people laugh. Finally there is my boyfriend. I never thought I would meet anyone like him. He is exactly like me, just more outgoing. He is the biggest goofball in the world. Along with new friends come new adventures. We've definitely had plenty of fun going to the movies, eating a home cooked meal in the laundry room, playing Phase 10, and even just sitting around talking. One night we even fixed my boyfriend's hair so he looked like Hitler. One of the best times I've had was the last time we went bowling. Our games were going good, "Sid" was beating everybody. Around the eighth frame of the last game, the computer went haywire. It had randomly decided to simulate the rest of our game. It gave me all gutter balls (not that I would have bowled much better). Someone else got all strikes and ended up with a 212. That definitely made for an interesting night. These friends have made my transition to college so much easier than I ever thought was possible. I look back now and I can't believe I was ever afraid to come. I knew I would meet new people, but I never realized they would become my family away from home.

Lol yeah we are twins aren't we. It even freaks us out sometimes! Funny thing is we come from completely different backgrounds & childhoods. Oh and of course there's the lovely memory where your boyfriend broke my bed trying to barricade you out of our room. Good times...
