Internet
Not much has been going on here in Defiance, but luckily I've found something to write, and complain, about. A few months ago I was so excited to get my computer. I would be able to lay in bed and watch movies. I could even check my Facebook from the other side of my room at home. At home, this is possible. Now that I'm back here, it seems the connection isn't as strong. It has been taking me forever to connect. When it finally does connect, it won't open the pages or it takes even longer to load. It gets really inconvenient when I'm trying to check my email or do research from the comfort of my own dorm room. Granted, it's not that long of a walk from McReynolds to Dana, the Library, or even Hubbard. However, it's much more convenient to sit down at my desk and find what I need to.

yeah definitely know what you mean...try moving your laptop to your bed because mine was the same way when I had it on my desk but my connection is better on my bed
ReplyDeleteagreed, at my own home i can have my xbox 360 running xbox live and playing music off of youtube no problem.
ReplyDeleteI hate this. Specially the days when my internet won't connect at all. And yes you are right, it is a short walk to Dana. But late at night or even when it is freezing outside, most people, including myself would not want to walk there. So it definitely is much more convenient to just sit in your room and work...
ReplyDeleteHere's a tip from the techie!
ReplyDeleteThe wireless isn't meant to be transmitted into McReynolds. The walls are old and full of water that sucks up the signal. This makes everything move in slow motion.
Your best bet is to get an Ethernet cable, I actually have a spare if you want a nifty discount :]
Okay well I don't have to deal with this in the dorms because I live off campus but for some reason, my internet has been super slow lately too. It's driving me crazy! It keeps kicking me offline and asking if I want to connect through dial up. No, I don't! If I wanted to use dial up, I wouldn't have wireless!
ReplyDeleteThat is just a good example of why computers are one of the most frustrating things in existence or maybe it's my lack of knowledge of computers that is so frustrating.
